Fredericksburg Academy, the leading independent school in the area, is seeking a full-time school receptionist to begin work immediately. Fredericksburg Academy is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience to our over 440 students and their families. We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Receptionist to join our school community and contribute to the continued growth and success of the school. As the receptionist, you are one of the first points of contact for our school. You will handle the flow of people in and out of the buildings and ensure that all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Prior work experience as a receptionist or similar position of customer service
· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proficiency in applicable computer skills (Word, Excel, Google, etc.)
· Work collaboratively with colleagues and visitors
· Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
· Work is considered light physical work requiring the lifting of up to 20 pounds
Be able to manage all personal care and be independently mobile
Must pass two Background Checks (OBI fingerprint & CRS background check)
Enjoy working with students and faculty and contributing to a pleasant work environment
Must be a self-starter and able to enhance FA’s mission
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet and interact with visitors to the school in a positive and professional manner, including in person, on the phone, and in writing.
· Manage all customers (both internal and external) who present themselves at the school’s front office. This includes registering visitors through our Raptor system, providing information and directing customers to other appropriate offices, announcing their arrival to administration and applicable staff, and overseeing the sign-in/sign-out sheet for students and faculty and staff.
· Operates multi-line telephone system to receive incoming calls and refers telephone inquiries to appropriate personnel. Updates messages as needed (holidays, weather related delays and closures, etc.)
· Receive mail and other deliveries during the school day and coordinates holds during times when school is not in session.
· Provide general clerical support to the school office staff and assigned administrators as requested.
· Maintain vigilance in the presence in the building of any visitor who bypasses the reception desk or any suspicious activity or unusual behavior on the part of visitors.
· Learn applicable school policies and procedures and communicate those to visitors and parents when necessary.
· Assist with data entry management for student attendance.
· Observes all rules and regulations at Fredericksburg Academy and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
· Maintain a professional and comfortable reception area.
