Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services says just before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Spotsylvania Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident on US Grant Court advising that their neighbor’s house was on fire. The caller had been woken by their dogs, alerting them to the fire. The caller stated the fire was all through the house.
Crews were dispatched and responded shortly thereafter, arriving on scene at 4:07 a.m. to find the home fully involved in flames. A few minutes after arrival, there was a partial collapse of the structure. At the time, it was not known whether there were any occupants in the home. Due to the unstable condition of the structure, crews initiated an exterior attack, knocking down the bulk of the fire, then began to search for signs of any potential occupants.
After some time had passed, the owner of the home was able to be contacted and confirmed that no one was home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters.  The cause has not yet been determined.
