From the King George Sheriff’s Office:

On January 2nd 2023 at approximately 3:56 PM, the Maryland Dept. of Transportation notified our office that an LPR (license plate reader) reported a stolen vehicle had just entered King George County from the Md. bridge on Rt. 301. A deputy in the area spotted the suspect vehicle, a black Kia, heading Southbound on Rt. 301. Prior to the deputy activating his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.
The deputy activated his emergency lights and siren and pursued the vehicle. A Virginia State Trooper who was in the area also attempted to assist in stopping the vehicle. The suspect turned onto Ridge Road, eventually making a right onto Rt. 3 heading Westbound. As law enforcement continued to attempt to stop the vehicle, the suspect drove into oncoming traffic and ran off the road several times in attempts to get around traffic and elude law enforcement. At times the suspect was driving in excess of 120 mph.
Law enforcement continued to pursue the vehicle into Stafford County where Stafford Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to assist. The suspect continued Westbound on Rt. 3 and slowed upon catching up to traffic on the Chatham Bridge. The suspect continued into Fredericksburg where he ran the red light at the intersection of Caroline St and Amelia St and struck a vehicle.
Deputies apprehended the suspect who attempted to flee the scene on foot and tended to the occupants of the vehicle the suspect struck. The suspect and the victims of the crash were evaluated by EMS. The suspect, identified as Christian Thomas Dion, 26 years old of Norfolk, VA., was taken into custody and faces King George County charges of Felony Eluding and Reckless Driving. Dion was also wanted out of Prince William County for Felony Eluding and Grand Larceny of a Vehicle and has a history of charges related to firearms and failing to appear in court.
Dion was remanded to the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
