The Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) reminds the public that the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) Weekend Events will be running live and in-person on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 throughout Arlington, Virginia and the nation’s capital, causing some road closures and delays.
The MCM Kids Run will be the first running event of the weekend as aspiring runners journey through Long Bridge Park in Arlington on Saturday starting at 8:00 a.m. Over 20,000 runners will run either the MCM (26.2 miles), MCM10K (6.2 miles) or the MCM50K (31 miles) on Sunday, October 30. The MCM50K starts running at 7:15 a.m. and the MCM10K begins at 7:50 a.m. The marathon starts at 7:50 a.m. for wheeled participants, 7:52 a.m. for Duos and 7:55 a.m. for runners, with the last participants estimated to finish around 3:05 p.m. Significant delays should be expected.
Road Closures and Times:
The first closures can be expected on Saturday with a large number of temporary and rolling road closures throughout Arlington, Va. and Washington D.C. on Sunday:

Transportation:
The metro will be opening at 5:00 a.m. on event morning, except for the Arlington National Cemetery station which will open at 8:30 a.m. MCM and MCM50K participants taking the metro are encouraged to use the Pentagon or Pentagon City stations. There will be signage and volunteers to help direct. If you are staying in a Rosslyn hotel and need to access the baggage trucks, it is recommended to take the Rosslyn metro down to the Pentagon stop.
MCM10K participants should take the metro to the Smithsonian, L’Enfant Plaza or Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter stations for easy access to the start line located in the National Mall.
The six stations south of Ronald Regan National Airport will still be closed due to construction. However, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will be operating shuttles at a rush hour capacity starting at 5:00 a.m. to transport runners from these stations. If driving from south or southwest, it is recommended to park at an orange line station, such as Ballston, and take the metro in to the Pentagon or Pentagon City stations. Parking and Shuttle Information:
There is free parking available at the underground lot of 23rd and Crystal Dr on Saturday and Sunday. A shuttle will run between the parking garage and Long Bridge Park from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the MCM Kids Run.
A shuttle will transport runners to the MCM and MCM50K Runners Village Gateway from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. A shuttle will also be available at the Finish Festival to transport individuals back from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
