The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association has announced that Mark Snesavage will join the Association as their Director of Government Affairs. He will represent FABA and its members at local government meetings and lobby for and against policies, plans, and legislation directly affecting the local building industry. Mark will also manage FABA’s political action committee, which aims to support local political candidates that are supportive of creating and maintaining a healthy building environment.
Mark previously worked as Chief of Staff for State Senator Bryce Reeves (VA-17) for the past five years, where he developed local and state relationships. Mark was responsible for assisting constituents, and local businesses navigate government agencies. He brings advanced knowledge in the public policy process as he shares credit for the passage of over 40 pieces of state legislation. Mark graduated from Penn State University and the University of Virginia’s Sorensen Emerging Leaders Program.
Executive Officer Maria Moore said, “We are excited to welcome Mark to our team as we grow our local industry and Association. He brings valuable political connections and experience to our team and will devotedly represent the business interests of our members at the local level.”
President of FABA Scott Hine commented, “Now more than ever, the Fredericksburg region needs to maintain a healthy building industry environment. According to the Virginia Housing Commission, Virginia is facing a severe home shortage, creating an availability and affordability issue for Fredericksburg area residents. Our Association and members are working to be a part of the solution and will continue encouraging local officials to support strategic growth in our area. The Board and I are eager to work alongside Mark as he manages FABA’s political action committee. We look forward to supporting local candidates that will come to the table and positively work with our industry so we can provide housing to our residents at an affordable price point.
