The Stafford Sheriff’s Office says an 82-year-old woman died Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash that was the result of a medical emergency.
The Sheriff’s Office says about noon deputies responded to 518 Shelton Shop Road for reports of a three-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a northbound Chevy Malibu swerved across the center double yellow line and sideswiped a Ford truck. The Chevy then struck a southbound Infinity SUV head on.
The driver, and lone occupant of the Chevy, 82-year old Ivy Watkins-Harris of Stafford, was pronounced deceased on scene. The crash shows consistencies with Harris going through a medical emergency at the time of the crash. One of the other drivers involved did suffer injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Two children were properly restrained in one of the vehicles and were not injured.
