Applications are open for Cooling Assistance through the Virginia Energy Assistance Program (EAP). Cooling Assistance helps low-income households with home energy needs including the purchase or repair of cooling equipment, electric bill assistance, and security deposit assistance.
To be eligible, certain citizenship criteria must be met and a household’s income must be less than the maximum allowed for the number of people in the home. Additionally, the household must contain at least one vulnerable individual who is age 60 or over, is living with a disability, or is under age 6.
