As you drive near I-95 in Dumfries, you may notice maintenance work taking place on a Prince William County water tank. This work being performed on the Interstate Water Storage Tank is part of a rehabilitation project. Contractors are undertaking welding repairs as well as sandblasting and recoating the interior and exterior to help extend the life of the tank and maintain drinking water quality for Dumfries-area customers.
After the tank rehabilitation is complete, the Service Authority will clean and inspect it every three to five years before performing a full condition assessment after 15 years.
