15 teams from 13 public, private and governor’s high schools–representing 13 school districts – from Richmond to Stafford and throughout the Northern Neck – will go head to head in a robotics competition.
There’s a total of $5,000 in cash prizes. Students will be challenged in python coding, sensor coding; navigation,
detection and action; and command and control. The students will establish communication with a tiny robot on wheels,
program it to maneuver a mat – navigating through the “sea” and around “land masses” – then detect, acquire and act on
a target.
Spectators are welcome, and the event will be livestreamed on YouTube via a link – www.umw.edu/innovationchallenge
