Did you know Ferry Farms neighborhood was the first subdivision in Stafford County? The first homes were built in the 1950s, and most were built in the 1960s. Understandably, the water pipes need an upgrade to bring the neighborhood’s water system up to 21st century standards. Stafford County is in the midst of a $10 million five-year project to renovate the aging system. It is a big project and will, at times, impact both residents of the area and those who drive through, particularly on Ferry Road. It can be frustrating to co-exist with a project of this magnitude, but we ask residents to pardon our dust as we work to make this much-needed improvement.
Upcoming Ferry Farms Project Activities
This week, Stafford County Utilities will be continuing work on installing a water main on Ferry Road at the intersections of Wakefield Avenue, Randolph Road and Pendleton Road.
Details are as follows:
- Sunday, April 24, and Monday, April 25, between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. -Alternating Single Lane Closures in the evening along Ferry Road between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Swan Drive as needed.
- Monday, April 25, between 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. – Water service disruption to customers along Pendleton Road, Mercer Lane, Patrick Henry Street and Bell Road.
- Tuesday, April 26 – Friday, April 29, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. – Alternating Single Lane Closures during the day along Ferry Road between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Swan Drive as needed.
