Stafford man charged by City Police with break-in at Fred Nats stadium

From Fredericksburg Police:

On February 21st at approximately 11:49 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police E-911 Center was alerted that several alarms were triggered at the Fredericksburg Nationals Stadium located at 42 Jackie Robinson Way. Patrol officers responded and found the suspect attempting to enter the players’ locker room with a sledgehammer. The suspect, identified as Michael Byram, was taken into police custody without incident.

Upon further investigation, patrol officers determined Byram accessed multiple areas inside the stadium, stole baseball memorabilia, damaged a storage room door, and removed the infield tarp. Michael Byram, 31, of Stafford was arrested on the following charges:

• Public Intoxication
• Vandalism
• Larceny
• Entering property with intent to damage

Byram was held on a secured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
