Stafford Sheriff’s Office on alert over TikTok post threatening schools nationally

by | Dec 17, 2021 | Police and Fire

From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is aware of a TikTok post threatening safety in schools. This post appears to be part of a national TikTok trend and not specific to Stafford County.

While we do not believe this is a credible threat, we are closely monitoring the situation. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to work in partnership with Stafford County Public Schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. You may notice an additional law enforcement presence at schools on Friday.

We encourage parents to monitor their children’s social media activity. Avoid sharing any posts on social media that refer to school safety threats. As always, report any suspicious activity or threats to law enforcement immediately.
