The conference is a learning exchange and provides an opportunity for recreation and park professionals to discuss areas of common interest.

Highlighting each year’s conference is a formal presentation of awards. Judged by a jury of its peers, Fredericksburg, Parks, Recreation and Events received an award in the Best New Program, Population 25,001-50,000 category, for the Camp@Home Program. Fredericksburg was also awarded Best New Special Event, Population 25,001-50,000 category, for the Reverse Christmas Parade
