From the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office:
A Fauquier County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested and charged Morgan Joseph Bender, 18, of, Catlett with brandishing and Possession of a Weapon on school property on Oct 22.
Deputies investigated a suspicious incident that occurred at 7403 Academic Ave (Kettle Run High School). It was reported that a male subject was seen waving a handgun out the driver’s side window of a vehicle on school property near the senior parking area.
During the investigation, Sheriff Deputies identified the suspect as Morgan Bender. He was later located at Liberty High School and taken into custody without incident. Deputies located the weapon which was determined to be a CO2 BB Gun. Bender is a student at Kettle Run High School but also attends classes at Liberty High School according to spokesperson Tara Helkowski for The Fauquier County Public Schools.
Bender was given a $10,000 dollar unsecured bond and has since been released from the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.
