Reserving a cabin, campsite, lodge or shelter

Overnight accommodations and picnic shelters are available for reservations up to 11 months in advance. Campsites may be reserved up until 2 p.m. on the date of arrival. Cabin reservations should be made before midnight on the day prior to arrival. Same-day cabin reservations, however, may be available but can be handled only by phone. Reservations are always recommended.

By phone

Call 800-933-7275, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pay in full now or take up to two weeks to pay. However, if you call within two weeks of your stay, you won’t have 14 days to pay. You may cancel an unpaid reservation at no cost. Once you pay, cancellation and transfer fees apply.

Online

Reserve online, 24 hours a day. There, you’ll find information about the park and sites, as well as park policies. Visit the official rules and regulations webpage for details and read the frequently asked questions. Changes and cancellations to reservations will result in penalty fees reduced from the amount paid so please read the policies carefully before submitting payment. You must pay in full by credit card when reserving online.

By app

Use the free RA Camping app found in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app allows users to make reservations and makes it easy to post and share photos from your phone. Changes and cancellations to reservations will result in penalty fees reduced from the amount paid so please read the policies carefully before submitting payment. You must pay in full by credit card when booking through the app.

You’ll get a confirmation letter soon after the reservation is paid. If you booked online, through the app or provided an email address, the letter will come via e-mail. Otherwise, we mail it to you. Call 800-933-7275 if you don’t get a confirmation within a few hours (you may need to check your spam folder). Carefully review the letter to make sure everything’s accurate. Regardless of the reservation method, call 800-933-7275 to change or cancel a reservation or have questions. The software used online and through the app is ReserveAmerica’s, but Virginia State Parks staff manages facilities, fees and policies.
