How to have your say in local transportation decisions

Here’s your opportunity to weigh in on a transportation project list for the Fredericksburg region.

The federal government requires metropolitan planning organizations, such as FAMPO, to develop a long-range transportation plan that projects at least 20 years out. The plan must be updated at least every four years. It is now time to update the plan for our region, which includes the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania.

As part of the effort to develop a new transportation plan, FAMPO staff have worked with city and county planners to develop a draft list of transportation projects that will receive federal funding over the next four years. FAMPO is seeking public input on the proposed transportation project list.

Learn how to review the list and provide comments by visiting the Creating a New Transportation Plan webpage. Look for “participate now” and “happening now” sections highlighted in red. A video resource will show you how to review the project list. After you review the list, use the directions on the webpage to send FAMPO your concerns or expression of support. Comments can address individual projects, distribution of funding among different transportation modes or geographic areas, or any other related topic
