Suspect sought in Spotsylvania shooting

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man accused of shooting a county resident.  34-year old Shaunel Ball of Farnham-in Richmond County- is charged with malicious wounding, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

Sheriff’s Major Troy Skebo says deputies went to the 7000 block of Alpha Court in Salem Fields on Monday about 7:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. They found a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives spent the night collecting evidence and following up on leads. Ball was identified as the suspect.  Skebo said Ball is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen. The Sheriff’s Office has not released a motive for the shooting.
