City Police arrest suspect for armed robbery and several bomb threats

Fredericksburg Police have arrested a suspect in a recent armed robbery and a number of bomb threats.  53-year old Michael Blake of Fredericksburg was arrested and remains incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail for involvement in a number of incidents:

Robbery – On July 16th, the victim reported an unknown male approached her outside her home in the 200 block of Bridgewater Street with a weapon and demanded her purse. The suspect forced her into the garage and stole her belongings. Charges stemming from this incident include:
• Armed robbery
• Assault and battery
• Grand larceny
• Abduction

Bomb Threat at Business – On July 24th, the Valero Gas Station owner reported a person left a threatening note in the bathroom demanding money and threatened to burn down the business if they did not comply. The suspect also doused the restroom with a flammable liquid.  The gas station is located at 501 Jefferson Davis Highway. Charges stemming from this incident  include:
• Extortion
• Threats in writing
• Threat to bomb /burn

Bomb Threats at Residences – On July 26th, two residences, one in the 200 block of Charles Street and the other in the 200 block Ferdinand Street, received notes demanding money and a  A Nationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency since 2009 threat to bomb their residences if they did not comply. The suspect also doused the flower beds with a flammable liquid. Charges stemming from these incidents include:
• Threat to bomb /burn (two charges)
• Create / possession of bombing material (two charges)
• Attempted arson (two charges)

City Police say they worked closely with the Fire Department on the bomb threat investigations.
