Fredericksburg Police are investigating an incident just before 9 on Thursday morning where dispatchers received a call from a witness who reported his coworker was struck by a pellet from a bb gun in the 1000 block of Wicklow Drive. The victim had superficial injuries and did not need medical assistance.
Patrol officers set up a perimeter around the scene and began their investigation while a detective was requested to respond to the incident. The Unmanned Aircraft System Team also responded to canvass the area. K9 units from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office assisted with searching for the suspect.
A witness reported the suspect was dressed in all-black clothing running in the wood line near the Sunshine Ball Park located at 1200 Wicklow Drive.
