Road rage in Stafford

From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:
A Stafford man was arrested Thursday afternoon for brandishing a handgun following a road rage incident.
Deputy R. S. Dominguez responded to a business on Nelms Circle for a disturbance with a weapon. The victim relayed that while driving on Plantation Drive another driver was yelling at him and waving to him to pull over. The victim continued on to the business on Nelms Circle.
Approximately ten minutes after the altercation, the same driver arrived at the business and confronted the victim. The suspect was told to leave and went back to his vehicle. Once in his vehicle, he removed a handgun from his waistband, brandished it and then drove off.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect on Merlin Way in the Village at England Run. The suspect was identified as Derek Porterfield, 31. A Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun was recovered and taken as evidence.
Porterfield was arrested for brandishing, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
