Sheriff Dempsey and his family suffered a terrible loss in 2013 when several family members were killed including his daughter, Bethany, and granddaughter Lauren, in a vehicle crash by a distracted driver. Lauren played for KG Lady Foxes Softball. The team said they’ve always considered the Dempsey’s a part of their family.
