From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

A repeat DUI offender was jailed Thursday after several citizens called to report her egregious driving behavior.
On April 1st at 6:37 p.m. the Emergency Communications Center began receiving calls about a red Camaro with temporary registration driving recklessly in the Courthouse Road area. Several other witnesses also called to report egregious driving behavior, describing the same vehicle. One witness reported that his vehicle was struck when the Camaro passed him at Jefferson Davis Highway and Jason Lane and the suspect fled the scene.
Deputy A.T. Leckemby located the Camaro on Greenridge Drive and determined that Jessica Nageotte, 30, of Stafford had been the driver. Nageotte struggled to exit the vehicle and had slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and she was arrested for DUI.
Nageotte was charged with DUI second in five years, driving revoked, refusal, obstruction and hit and run. She was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
The Stafford Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that there are many options for intoxicated people to get home. Designated drivers, cabs, or a ridesharing app are just a few examples. Drive sober or get pulled over.
