From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:
On March 17 at 3:17 p.m., deputies responded to I-95 southbound for a report of a brandishing. The victim reported he was driving on I-95 and merged into the far-right lane in front of a BMW sedan driven by a male suspect. The suspect accelerated and passed the victim on the right shoulder and pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle and slammed on the brakes.
Through the rear-window, the victim then saw the suspect reach down and raise a rifle. Deputy E.E. West was traveling on I-95 and found the suspect vehicle. Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle near mile marker 138. The suspect, Estanislo Martinez, 22, of Chesterfield, was detained without incident. A loaded AR rifle was discovered inside the vehicle.
Martinez was arrested for brandishing, transporting a loaded rifle on a public roadway, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and reckless driving. He was held on a $2,500 secured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
