From Juan More Taco
When our founder Maria began her mission to feed our elderly community who during the peak of the pandemic (and still now) have been the most vulnerable, she had no idea of the impact this would have in the community. With grocery stores and pharmacies wiped out of basic necessities and sanitary needs- our elders were at a loss and were scared to leave their homes out of fear of getting sick and could barely stock their pantries with food.
Everyday since March 17th, 2020 rain or shine, Maria has kept her word no questions asked. She has since been joined in her generosity by
Fredericksburg Cupcake, Italian Station and Orofino Restaurant. Our unexpected but so welcomed partnership with the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has been the cherry on top! Today alone they have supplied over 18,000 meals to our elderly and have touched countless hearts not only across town, but across the nation and even internationally.
It’s been a journey these past 12 months. It’s been scary not knowing how much longer we can continue doing everything we do, but we’re taking things day by day. We’ve dealt with loss, we’ve formed friendships that have created bonds like family, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve been thrown impossible obstacles left and right- but we continue to keep pushing through. We couldn’t have done all of this if it wasn’t for all of you.
It’s with great pride that I the honor to announce the newly formed and awaiting for the last paperwork to be approved, our very own 501(c3) “The 504 Project” which hopefully will allow us to help more elderly in our community for years to come. Please keep supporting small businesses, keep shopping small, keep spending your money locally. We NEED you more than ever.
Muy agradecidos, today and forever!
