Home of the Week: Stafford Gem in the Mansfeld Manor Neighborhood

Open spaces – within its walls and beyond – equate to smiling faces at this Stafford gem. The custom-build at 5 Johnson Mill Ridge – built in 2004 and still dazzling – features 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths across over 6,500 square feet of living space. The home sits on 1.24 acres of land with a noticeably large and lush front yard, primed for gatherings or perhaps the neighborhood football game (as it has been used in times past).
Zooming in on the brick-front home, it’s strong as a rock and is in pristine condition. Also, in terms of its core, it has a relatively new HVAC system (4 years old) and sprinkler system to keep things low maintenance. Walking through its chandelier-clad grand entrance, its open floor plan and gleaming hardwood floors simply set it apart from anything you’ll experience. Off to the left is its massive kitchen with updates aplenty including granite countertops, an island, stainless steel appliances, oak colored cabinetry and a grand dining room nearby. Also, on the main level, you’ll find a large study/home office and the sitting room of your dreams (another great online learning room!), clad with tons of windows and natural light. Off the main level is its enclosed porch with a staircase down to the back yard.
Heading upstairs, the primary bedroom has a spacious walk-in closet, fireplace and, my oh my, the primary bath! Among its features is a heated jet tub, double stand-up shower, private toilet and his-and-hers sinks. Also, upstairs, you’ll find Jack-and-Jill bedrooms (with a bath adjoining the two bedrooms) and brand-new carpet. Just as downstairs, you’ll notice plenty of freshly painted spaces throughout.
On the lower level is a very versatile space. It may be used like an apartment (yes, it has its own separate entrance!) or in-law suite. The kitchenette space downstairs includes new cabinetry and granite counters. There is no shortage of storage space as well. Speaking of storage space, there is plenty in the home’s 3-car, side load garage.
Within the Mansfeld Manor neighborhood (no HOA fees, by the way!), the home is tucked toward the end of a cul-de-sac, equating to privacy and tranquility. Beyond its back yard is a wooded area and, within a 10-minute stroll are Lake Mooney Park and the Rocky Pen Run Reservoir, primed for canoeing and kayaking. Beyond the community, the home is within minutes of Celebrate Virginia North Shopping Center, which has a Giant Food and Pharmacy, Wells Fargo Bank, Fitness 1440 gym, Five Guys and a number of other amazing shops.
The seemingly endless shopping and attractions along U.S. Route 17 are right there too. For commuters, you won’t even have to endure U.S. Route 17 traffic to get on I-95! From the home, there is a nearly straight shot along a back road (Sanford Drive) that takes to you to the U.S. Route 17 exit on Interstate 95. On the rail commuting front, the Leeland Road and Fredericksburg Virginia Railway Express (VRE) stations are each within 20 minutes.
