DUI and texting while driving charges in Stafford

Over the weekend a Stafford deputy responded to the area of Leeland Road and Perth Drive for a single vehicle crash. The vehicle had run off the road into a ditch causing the vehicle to roll over. The driver was not injured, but he was arrested for driving under the influence. It was learned he was texting during the time of the crash. He was charged with texting while driving.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to never drink and drive. 28 people die in drunk driving crashes every day in the United States. If you plan on being out drinking, plan a sober ride home ahead of time.
Beginning January1st, it will be illegal to hold a phone while driving.
