Spotsy investigating shots fired into home on Cherry Tree Drive

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of shots fired into a house on Cherry Tree Drive. Authorities say the incident occurred on Thursday between 3-5am.   Police say the resident did not report the shooting until 7:30am.    Several witnesses stated they heard sounds of gun fire in the area at approximately 3:30am, however no calls to 911 occurred at that time.  The home was occupied by several young children at the time of the shooting.  There were no injuries reported.  This incident is still under investigation.
