A 57-year old Spotsylvania woman has been charged of killing her mother on Monday night at their home in the county. Capt. Liz Scott with the Sheriff’s Office says Lisa Anne Harmon, also known as Lisa Anne Hughes is charged with second-degree murder.
Capt. Scott says 73-year old Sophie Rumuly was found dead by her husband about 6pm Monday when he returned to their home on Plantation Forest Drive. Police say Rumley had stab wounds. Harmon lives in the house. Authorities say she was quickly identified as a suspect based on the evidence.
Police say they do not yet have a motive. Harmon is being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
