From City School Superintendent Dr. Marci Catlett:
Dear Fredericksburg City Public Schools Families and Community,
As you are aware, Fredericksburg City Public Schools suspended the emergency feeding program on Sunday, June 21 out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our workers and volunteers. In close partnership with the Rappahannock Area Health Department, we have reassessed the prevalence of COVID-19 in our community and have jointly determined that the meal program can safely resume on Monday, July 6.
The structure of the program has not changed as there will be a breakfast meal and lunch meal available to any child 18 years and under. We plan to follow the same meal distribution schedule as listed above.
We will continue to require our workers and volunteers to maintain strict social distancing as well as to wear their masks at all times, which research shows dramatically reduces the spread of the coronavirus.
We know that our meal program is critical to many students in our community and we look forward to serving our families again!
