A Stafford man has been arrested for his second DUI in three years. Authorities say it occurred Friday in the area of Kings Highway and the Blue Gray Parkway. Deputy Houde responded to an auto accident. Upon arrival, he discovered a Toyota Rav4 had rear ended a Dodge Ram pick-up at the intersection and the Rav4 was stuck beneath the truck.
The occupants of the truck reported that they were struck at the light and the Rav4 driver provided his license to them, but requested that they not involve law enforcement. He then fled the scene on foot.
Deputy Bolinsky canvassed the area and located 33-year old Brandon Blackburn hitchhiking on Cool Springs Road. Blackburn matched the description of the fleeing suspect and the driver’s license that was provided at the scene. Blackburn had red, glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
Blackburn was arrested and also faces charges of hit and run, reckless driving and no seatbelt. He was held on a secure bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
