Brisben Center in Fredericksburg tapping into the sun

by | May 7, 2020 | Environmental

The Thurman Brisben Center in Fredericksburg celebrated the completion of a solar panels project that will provide about 75% of it’s energy from the sunlight harnessed from its roof. The monthly savings to the Brisben Center is about 14-hundred dollars or about a half-million dollars over the 30+ year lifespan of the system.

The project is also helping equip lower-income trainees for livable wage careers in the fast-growing solar power industry. Among those involved in the project: The City’s Clean and Green Commission and Germanna Community College.
