Citing the times, Spotsy budget doesn’t include public safety cost-of-living increase (for now)

A divided Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors passed a budget that did not include $750,000 for a public safety cost of living pay increase. The board last fall significantly increased pay for public safety. Supervisor Tim McLaughlin wanted money cut from the school budget to pay for it. Supervisor Chris Yakabouski said the county’s budget and world has changed.  Only Supervisor Ross joined McLaughlin.
