Two Fredericksburg teens arrested in shooting of city juvenile

From Fredericksburg Police:

Monday night at 6:40 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police Department E-911 Communications Center received a report from a nearby hospital that a juvenile female was shot near the playground in the Wellington Woods Apartment Complex. Patrol officers immediately responded and began to investigate while detectives were requested to respond. K-9 officers from the Virginia State Police and Game and Inland Fisheries also responded to assist.

During the investigation, officers were able to identify two suspects. The following charges were obtained:

Terrell Carter, 18, of Fredericksburg was arrested on charges of attempted murder in the second degree and malicious Wounding.

Apollo Machail Jenkins, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to commit malicious wounding.

Both suspects are being held at the the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Police recovered BB and and pellet guns from one of the suspect’s apartments.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Richmond. She underwent surgery last night and is expected to make a full recovery.
