Thanksgiving Day brings special meals and get-togethers, but it is an incredibly busy time of year. If you are hosting a Thanksgiving meal, establishing a plan can keep holiday chaos down to a minimum. We hope to help you focus on the big picture and the smaller, memorable details. Utilize these 5 essential apps to save time in the kitchen and during holiday prep so that you can spend more time with family and friends.
-
Plan ahead with Cozi Family Organizer
This app is available for all devices and computers, including iPad® tablets. Cozi helps manage everyday life and bigger events. During the holidays, Cozi can set reminders for you and members of your family. Instead of taking on all of the tasks to prepare for Thanksgiving Day, delegate tasks via the app. There’s even a shared list function which can be helpful for grocery shopping. Cozi offers a Family Recipe Box, too, so your favorite Thanksgiving recipes can be stored in one place.

Plan the meal and cook with NYT Cooking
The New York Times Recipes app includes more than 18,000 recipes from The New York Times. Their recipe archive is considered one of the most inclusive and reputable, and a fabulous “companion in the kitchen.” Features include customizable collections, recipe recommendations, and instructional technique videos. They offer a free trial period, so sign up and test it out in time for Thanksgiving meal planning.

Save money with Flipp
Flipp is a weekly shopping savings app. This app sends weekly ads, deals, and coupons from major retailers such as Aldi, Walgreens, Target, CVS, Walmart and more. It’s a free app and helps keep your shopping experience organized. Before heading to the stores, search and locate items on sale, build a shopping list and add rewards cards to your Flipp account. A bonus feature is the ability to share your shopping list with anyone else. This is beneficial if you can delegate some of the Thanksgiving prep such as shopping to a spouse, family member or friend.

Entertain guests with Apple Music® service
Music helps create the scene for your Thanksgiving event. Plus, it can be relaxing and motivating. With over 50 million songs available through the Apple Music catalog, there is something for everyone. You can create playlists and mixes to set the mood for your entire day. Apple Music service offers ad-free streaming and there are over 100k radio stations available via the service. Apple Music service is free for three months for new members.

Keep younger guests busy with Heads Up! Kids
It’s wise to have an activity planned during your Thanksgiving event, especially if your guests include children. When there’s downtime, a game can help bring everyone together to make even more meaningful memories. This trivia game is fun for all ages. There is an adult version, too. Players use the phone as the trivia device, holding it up to their head to showcase a picture clue. Heads Up! is equipped with dozens of themed decks which keep the game interesting. Both versions of the game are available for $0.99 but this app will keep everyone entertained beyond Thanksgiving. The adult version records videos of the users during their turn.
Whether this is your first time hosting Thanksgiving or you’re a pro, we are confident these apps will make your day more enjoyable and help you keep it all under control. If you are having issues installing the apps on your iPad tablet or your iPhone® device, don’t hesitate to stop by your local Experimax store and ask our Xpert techs to take a look.
