From the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office:
In the early morning hours of October 20, deputies with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8100 block of South Woods Drive for a report of a party where underage drinking was occurring. Several parents called the Sheriff’s Office to report that they had picked up their children from this location to find they were heavily intoxicated. Upon arrival, a deputy found an intoxicated 16-year-old male walking from the home. During the subsequent investigation, several juveniles were found to be in the home, also heavily intoxicated. All the juveniles which ranged in age from fourteen to sixteen, were turned over to their parents. The homeowner, Bret Cotton was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice and three counts of Contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It is unknown why the juveniles were in the home of Cotton. The investigation is still on-going and further charges may be sought on other adults that were in the home.
