The U.S. Navy says the Russian destroyer that nearly collided with the USS Chancellorsville made an “unsafe maneuver.” The U.S. 7th Fleet posted a statement saying the Russian destroyer “maneuvered from behind and to the right of” the USS Chancellorsville and then sped up toward the U.S. ship. The near-collision happened in the Philippine Sea overnight as the USS Chancellorsville was recovering a helicopter.
