HFFI has decided to appeal a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) approved by the Fredericksburg Architectural Review Board (ARB). The ARB approved the replacement of a wood front porch at the home on 129 Caroline Street with concrete, brick, and tile. This is not in keeping with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
Since 1974, HFFI has held a restrictive preservation covenant on the property; therefore, the organization would like the opportunity to work with the property owners on an appropriate solution.
This topic will be discussed at City Hall on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Since 1955, HFFI has been devoted to preserving, protecting, and revitalizing the historic resources and cultural heritage of Fredericksburg.
