A Weekend of Art and Wine at Caledon State Park
Quickly becoming the premiere gathering of local artisans and vintners, Caledon’s Art and Wine Festival has earned its reputation as King George County’s not-to-miss-event of the fall and it’s happening this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4, 2018.
This year’s festival includes nearly a dozen local wineries and you can feel good–doubly so–about enjoying your libations. All proceeds go directly to the Friends of Caledon to help fund crucial park projects.
The 2-day event just requires the $5 parking fee per vehicle, so carpooling is encouraged. Admittance is free, and all guests are welcome to wander the grounds and support the local artisans, but if you’d like a tasting you’ll need your valid ID and $15. Your ticket is good for one day only and includes all the wineries in attendance plus a commemorative wine glass to mark the event.
Festival hours are Saturday, November 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Autumn Comes to the Routes of Rhythm Music Trail
Bear Creek Lake State Park is pleased to present this program November 3, 2018, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Hall as a part of our 2018 Routes of Rhythm Music Trail series. The performance is free and will be held rain or shine. Bear Creek Hall is accessible to those with physical impairments.
As tree leaves turn colors, so does our attitude to nature. This program will offer songs, tunes, and stories composed in the past about the advent of autumn. Music will provide a background for thoughts on the changing season, and of how people and the environment prepare for the winter ahead. How do you cook a pumpkin with a wood fire? Heard any songs about a whistle pig lately? Come enjoy reflections on the way of life in the Virginia piedmont region, and from beyond.
Benchmark Community Bank is proud to be a sponsor for Routes of Rhythm by Virginia State Parks. A product of the same Southside Virginia region that gave birth to some of music’s most unique artists and sounds.
Artist Open House and Live Pottery Workshops
