The Fredericksburg Police Department released the following advisory August 24, 2018:
The Fredericksburg Police Department has been receiving information via social media and police reports on suspicious male(s) in the Fredericksburg area following females. The Fredericksburg Police Department takes this information very seriously and requests if anyone ever feels like they are being followed, watched, or just feel uncomfortable, to please call the Police and make a report.
The FPD recommends the following tips to stay safe in response to the advisory:
- Stay in well lit areas if out at night
- Make sure if you are going out that someone knows where you are going and what time you should be home
- The buddy system: Make sure someone is always with you
- If you or anyone else feels uncomfortable for any reason it’s better to call the Police Department.
