Fondo Cycling Circuit USA will host its inaugural Fredericksburg event October 21, departing from Old Mill Park.
A fondo is a timed cycling event. It’s like a marathon in a way, where competitors can choose to race each other, but most people are racing the clock and trying to set their own best time. The Fredericksburg event will offer 30-, 50- and 75-mile rides.
This is one of six U.S. events the organization announced this week. Fredericksburg’s Economic Development and Tourism department worked with the race organizer to bring the event to the Fredericksburg area.
