Fredericksburg Today
Metro Diner opened its doors at 2068 Plank Road in the Greenbrier Shopping Center in Fredericksburg Tuesday, Feb. 20.
The location is the third Metro Diner in Virginia. The diner chain started in Jacksonville, Fla.
The 3,500-square-foot diner seats for 125. The restaurant serves breakfast all day along with lunch and dinner.
“We are so excited to be joining this community in Fredericksburg,” said Fredericksburg Metro Diner Managing Partner Matt McClutchy. “We’ve already received a warm welcome from residents and fellow local businesses. It is clear that Fredericksburg has an appreciation for good, classic diner food and we hope to continue to satisfy their appetites with our creative twists on old favorites. Our menu is focused, and outrageously delicious.”
McClutchy said the diner prides itself on quality ingredients and a scratch kitchen where cooks make their own sauces, soups and compotes. In addition, Metro Diner hand cuts their home fries, chips and French fries, and cracks fresh eggs daily.
The Diner held two pre-opening friends and family nights to benefit the Fredericksburg SPCA and Blue Star Mothers Fredericksburg Chapter, raising $6,100 and $6,150 respectively.
