Interstate 95 Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Work is underway to improve the deck and substructure on several bridges located on I-95 in Stafford and Spotsylvania.
Stafford County: I-95 Bridge over Potomac Creek at mile marker 137
The I-95 bridges over Potomac Creek are located just before Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) at mile marker 137.
- I-95 Northbound:
- Wednesday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m.
- Expect alternating, single lane closures.
- Wednesday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m.
Stafford County Work Zones
Route 3 Westbound Business
Tuesday, 12 p.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. and Wednesday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect a single lane closure on Route 3 westbound near the flyover to Blue Gray Parkway for guardrail repair. Flaggers will direct drivers in the work zone Expect brief delays near the work zone.
Route 630 (Courthouse Road)
(Update) Tuesday ˗˗ Thursday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Courthouse Road between Cedar Lane and Walpole Street for grading and pipe work as part of the widening project. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Slight lane shifts are possible. Expect brief delays.
Winding Creek Road
(Update) Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m., Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Winding Creek Road for pipe work as part of the Courthouse Road widening project. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.
Routine Maintenance
Wednesday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
- Route 218 (White Oak Road) – shoulder repairs and ditch cleaning
- Route 1419 (Fallsway Lane) – ditch cleaning

Wednesday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

King and Queen County Work Zone
Route 608 (Clancie Road)
(New) Tuesday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 608 (Clancie Road) near Lake Pond Road for guardrail repair. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.
King George County Work Zone
Route 3
(New) Wednesday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate lane closures or alternating traffic with flagging operations on Route 3 eastbound and westbound. Crews are replacing the lens in snow plowable markers on Route 3 from Route 301 to Westmoreland County line. Motorists should expect slow moving construction equipment and delays near the mobile work zone. The mobile work zone will periodically pull over to allow congestion to clear.
Lancaster County/Middlesex County Work Zone
Route 3 and Robert O. Norris Bridge
Temporary traffic signals are installed at the center spans of the Norris Bridge on Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties. Two temporary signals control one-way, alternating traffic at the bridge’s center spans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crews are using the closed lane to paint the center spans of the bridge over the Rappahannock River. The signals will remain in place until the end of the painting project in June 2018.
Richmond County Work Zone
Route 360
(Update) Tuesday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 360 eastbound and westbound near Route 624 (Newland Road) for guardrail repair. Expect brief delays.
