Interstate 95 at Exit 118/Mudd Tavern Road Widening and Bridge Replacement Project

Crews are working to improve the interchange on Interstate 95 at Exit 118 (Mudd Tavern Road). The project will build a new I-95 overpass and improve on and off-ramps on Mudd Tavern Road, improve Mudd Tavern Road east of I-95, and Mallard Road.

Interstate 95 Southbound Off-Ramp

(Update) Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Exit 118 off-ramp which carries traffic from I-95 southbound to Mudd Tavern Road will be reduced to a single lane for storm sewer installation. Drivers should be alert to construction crews and equipment working in the right lane and right shoulder of the ramp. Expect brief delays at the interchange.

Interstate 95 Southbound at Exit 118

Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. A single, left lane on I-95 southbound will be closed at the interchange for construction activities. Expect brief delays.

Interstate 95 Northbound at Exit 118

Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. A single, left lane on I-95 northbound will be closed at the interchange for construction activities. Expect brief delays.

Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road)

(Update) Tuesday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Mudd Tavern Road near the Exit 118 interchange for storm sewer installation. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Stafford County Work Zones

Interstate 95 Northbound at Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville)

(New) Tuesday, 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. The right and center lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound near Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville) to allow crews to repair the overhead signs. Expect brief delays.

Route 3 Westbound Business

Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect a single lane closure on Route 3 westbound near the flyover to Blue Gray Parkway for guardrail repair. Flaggers will direct drivers in the workzone Expect brief delays near the work zone.

Route 218 (Butler Road)

(New) Monday – Tuesday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Expect mobile, alternating lane closures on Route 218 (Butler Road) near Chatham Heights Road for traffic engineering work. Expect brief delays.

Route 628 (Eskimo Hill Bridge)

(Update) Monday ˗˗ Tuesday, 7 a.m. ˗˗ 5 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Eskimo Hill Road at the bridge over CSX railroad tracks for bridge repairs. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone, which is near Montague Loop. Expect brief, overnight delays.

Route 630 (Courthouse Road)

(New) Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 7 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Courthouse Road from Route 1 to Wyche Road for utility work. This is a Stafford County project to improve service at the Red Oak Drive intersection.

Monday ˗˗ Thursday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Courthouse Road between Cedar Lane and Monument Drive for clearing/trimming trees, installing concrete barrier and pipe work as part of the widening project. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Route 1389 (Ridge Pointe Lane)

Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Ridge Pointe Lane near Deacon Road for guardrail repair. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays near the work zone.

Route 301 at Rappahannock River (James Madison Bridge)

(Update) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 7 a.m. ˗˗ 7 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Route 301 northbound and southbound from near the James Madison Bridge over the Rappahannock River for the bridge rehabilitation project. Expect brief delays on the bridge and at the bridge approaches.

Route 218 (Windsor Drive)

(New) Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Route 218 (Windsor Drive) near Drift Woods Drive to allow crews to inspect the bridge over the Upper Machodoc Creek. Flaggers will direct traffic. Expect brief delays near the bridge approaches.

Route 33

(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 5 p.m. Expect single, alternating lane closures on Route 33 near the New Kent County line for traffic engineering work. Expect brief delays.

Route 360

(Update) Tuesday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 360 eastbound near Mount Pleasants Road and at the Moncuin Creek Bridge for guardrail repair. Expect brief delays.

Lancaster County/Middlesex County Work Zone

Route 3 and Robert O. Norris Bridge

Temporary traffic signals are installed at the center spans of the Norris Bridge on Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties. Two temporary signals control one-way, alternating traffic at the bridge’s center spans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crews are using the closed lane to paint the center spans of the bridge over the Rappahannock River. The signals will remain in place until the end of the painting project in June 2018.

Route 17 (Tidewater Trail)

(New) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Expect a single left lane to be closed on southbound Route 17 near Lovers Retreat Lane for sign repairs. Expect brief delays.
