A plant sale will benefit adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Rappahannock Adult Activities’ sixth annual Fall Plant Sale will feature chrysanthemums grown by the center’s participants. Customers may purchase mums from on Sept. 18 and 20 at the Farmers Market in Hurkamp Park near the intersection of William and Prince Edward streets in Fredericksburg. Plants will be sold Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chrysanthemums are $10 and are available in yellow, red, orange and purple.
This year, the sale will also feature a second location. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 19, customers will be able to buy mums at the Ron Rosner YMCA in Spotsylvania County.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit RAAI’s day support program for adults with developmental disabilities. The program helps participants learn new skills, develop friendships and explore their community. Horticulture is one of many hobbies that individuals can pursue through the day support program.
