Mary Washington Healthcare and Lloyd Moss Free Clinic are hosting a community forum on the Affordable Care Act and the future of health care in Virginia.
The free event will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the John F. Fick III Conference Center, 1301 Sam Perry Blvd., in Fredericksburg. Enter at the second floor rear entrance to the Carl D. Silver/Moss Free Clinic building on the Mary Washington Hospital campus.
“This educational forum will be moderated by a non-partisan individual, and there will be an expert panel of stakeholders, who will each make brief presentations, followed by a question and answer session with the audience,” said organizer Bill Botts, Esq.
The panelists are:
Consumer Advocate: Jill Hanken, health law attorney for the Virginia Poverty Law Center
Hospital Representative: Dr. Michael P. McDermott, CEO and president of Mary Washington Healthcare
Physician/Patient Representative: Dr. Timothy Powell, medical director of the Fredericksburg Christian Health Center
Business Community Representative: Susan Spears, CEO and president of Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce
Health Care for All Advocate (Medicare for All/Single Payer): Dr. Jay Brock, Family Physician (retired), past president Fredericksburg Area Medical Society
The panel will be moderated by Fredericksburg.Today Publisher Susan Larson.
