‘The New Guy’ is a collection of short films that follow President Paino through uniquely Mary Washington adventures, as he gets to know the university and the city, along with their activities and amenities. Free.

First Friday Fredericksburg
Join the art galleries and studios of downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, for First Friday Art Walk every month. Opening receptions are from 6 – 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated. 

First Friday Curator Talk at the James Monroe Museum
Friday, April 7, 2017, 6 – 8 p.m. at James Monroe Museum, 908 Charles St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
Curator Jarod Kearney delves into the collections of the museum, and showcases artifacts rarely seen by the public, specifically those related to our exhibit “Era of Good Fashions: Clothing and Accessories of the Monroe Family,” opening the same day. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9:30 a.m. at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
Food, fun and crafts with the bunny, and an egg hunt. For children ages 2 to 8 years, with their parents.
The cost is $7 per/child, and one adult is free, and only $2 for the other adult.

Artisans, Art & History Day

The Friends of Chatham in conjunction with the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park are holding an Artisans, Art, and History Day at Chatham Manor on Saturday, April 8, 2017, for K through 12th grade students and their families. Second Annual Spotsylvania Courthouse Food Truck Rodeo
Saturday, April 8, 2017, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 9019 Old Battlefield Blvd., Spotsylvania Courthouse , VA 22553
Sample a wide selection of culinary delights from various food truck vendors, listen to Grassland Bluegrass Band, and enjoy a performance by the Courthouse School of Ballet. Children can take some photos with CYT Fredericksburg princesses, and visit their table for a chance to win tickets to see Shrek.

Dog Easter Egg Hunt

Registration forms with details are available online and at the Dorothy Hart Community Center. Easter egg hunt and optional Doggie Fashion Show for two groups, “Little Dog” and “Big Dog.” Dress your pet in their finest outfits, and win some nice prizes.

Sunday, April 9, 1 p.m. at Marriott Ranch, 5305 Marriott Lane, in Hume, Virginia.
A celebration of land and water conservation in the Rappahannock River watershed. Rappahannock River oysters from the Oyster Company of Virginia, catered barbecue from Marriott Ranch, local wines and beers from the Piedmont region, live music, hay ride tours of the property and conservation practices, fish shocking demonstrations from Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF), and more.
Tickets are $35, and children under 14 are welcome at no charge.
