Rep. Rob Wittman’s Communications Director Gregory Lemon provided the following information about Thursday night’s town hall meeting in Stafford.
1 – Can you confirm this town hall?
Yes. It was arranged and organized by Montross Mayor Joey King.
2 – Will the focus be health care?
Certainly. But other issues of importance will be discussed…national security and foreign affairs, Chesapeake Bay/environmental issues, and others. It is an open forum.
3 – What other topics would Rep. Wittman like to discuss.
Being the chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, he will likely want to discuss his efforts to adequately fund the Department of Defense and build the 355 ship Navy necessary to deter our adversaries, support our allies, and project force around the globe.

U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (R-01) will hold an in-person town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at LifeCare Medical Transports, 1180 International Parkway in Stafford County, LifeCare confirmed Thursday morning.
Notice of the meeting came from community members. Wittman’s Communications Director Gregory Lemon was not immediately available to provide more information.
Some constituents have been criticizing Wittman for refusing calls to hold in-person town hall meetings in recent months. He has been holding telephone town hall meetings.
This week organizers said Wittman declined an invitation to participate in the Community Forum on the Affordable Care Act and the Future of Health Care in Virginia, which is scheduled 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the John F. Fick III Conference Center, 1301 Sam Perry Blvd. in Fredericksburg. “Rep. Wittman’s schedule that day would not allow [his participation], as he was already booked with a full day of constituent meetings/events,” Lemon said.
