Charlie & Grace Market Café at 1002 Sophia St. in downtown Fredericksburg has reopened, following a brief reorganization.
Owner Anita Carshult is now also the chef. Her new hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 11 a.m. – 6 p m. Friday and Saturday. “I plan to extend the hours as we build momentum.” Carshult said.
Customers can eat inside or out, or take the food to go. ‘We’re going with more of a picnic-style, grab and go, market-style menu,” Carshult said.
Sandwich choices included a Cajun Sub of smoked ham, salami and pepperoni; Smoked Trout with pesto goat cheese spread; and Vegetarian Hummus with artichokes, tomato, roasted red pepper and fresh basil.
Sides and starters include Mediterranean Pasta Salad; Middle Eastern Couscous Salad; Watermelon and Feta Salad; and Deviled Eggs with smoked onion and bacon jam. There are also daily specials, snacks, and sweets. Beer and wine are available.
Carshult plans to add catering and special events. She has Carol Colby hosting a wine tasting from 12 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
Parking is available in the free lot next to the building, and across the street in the free Sophia Street city parking lot.
