The historic National Bank Building in downtown Fredericksburg has been sold.

“NBB, LLC purchased the 6,400 square foot property from PNC for $1.6 million as an investment for redevelopment,” said Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. NBB, LLC is owned by Mike Adams, who also owns JON Properties, LLC, the company constructing Park View, the mixed-use development at 425 William St.

The Federal style building at 900 Princess Anne St. ended nearly 194 years of service as a financial institution when PNC Financial Services closed the location in November 2014.

The property consists of two parcels totaling 0.541 acres, along with 22 parking spaces. One parcel is located on the corner of Princess Anne Street and George Street; the other at the corner of George Street and Charles Street.

The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and Confederate President Jefferson Davis both spoke from the bank building’s steps during the Civil War. Union troops used the building as a headquarters.

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s Jamie A. Scully and Wilson H. Greenlaw handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the seller.

This story was updated on September 2, 2015, to include more information about NBB, LLC.
