The 65th Annual Fredericksburg Art Show & Sale

The annual show and sale is presented by Fredericksburg Parks & Rec and the Woman’s Club of Fredericksburg. All proceeds benefit community recreation programs and Empowerhouse – Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence.

Fredericksburg-Este Association Lecture
Friday, March 18, 6:30 p.m.
Faulkner Hall at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St, in downtown Fredericksburg.
The Fredericksburg-Este Association will present a lecture by Rusty Neal, Ph.D., on the history of Church and State in Medieval Italy, and how it shaped the political landscape of Italy and Western Europe.

Fiddler on the Roof

Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) presents the story of Tevye and his five daughters.

Arena Stock Car Racing
Friday, March 18, 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 19, 3 p.m.

Drivers aged 8 – 13 and adults in the pro division race one-half-scale stock cars around a custom high-banked track that barely fits inside a hockey rink. Arrive early for the free driver meet and greet. Doors open one hour prior to race.

Friends of the Rappahannock Wild & Scenic Film Fest
Saturday, March 19, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Paragon Village 12, 51 Towne Centre Blvd. in Fredericksburg.
Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) is hosting their 5th annual Wild & Scenic Film Fest, meant to inspire environmental activism through short films about outdoor adventures, biodiversity, food, and the protection and restoration of wild lands and water ways.
Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door; $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.riverfriends.org.
Repeats Sunday, April 3 at Germanna Community College Daniel Technology Center, 18121 Technology Dr. in Culpeper. Doors open at noon with local food served, followed by films from 2 to 5 p.m.

Church Hill Irish Festival
Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m. -7 p.m.
Sunday March 20, 10 a.m. -6 p.m.
Church Hill, 25th Street and E. Broad Street , Richmond, Va.
Irish musicians, bagpipers, dancers and more descend on the Region’s Church Hill neighborhood for this annual weekend-after-St.-Patrick’s-Day event. In addition to great entertainment, there will be plenty of family fun, including children’s games and Irish-themed crafts. More than 30 Irish vendors will be in attendance.
$5 admission at the gate.

Eggsplosion
Saturday, March 19, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Children will enjoy a day of activities, including an egg hunt. The $10 per child admission fee includes all activities. No charge for adults. Food will be available for purchase. In case of inclement weather, the event may be moved to Sunday.

4th Annual Doggie Easter Hunt
Saturday, March 19, 12:30 p.m.
Memorial (Kenmore) Park, 1101 Kenmore Ave, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401
Dogs on leash hunt for prizes, treats, and toys. When the dog touches or sniffs a treats, prize or toy, it goes into your basket. This year there will also be a Doggie Fashion Show — Dress your dog up in their Easter finest, walk the runway, and compete for awesome prizes in “Big Dog” and “Little Dog” categories. Half of all registration will be given to the Fredericksburg SPCA. All dog parents are required to sign release acknowledging their dog(s) is current on shots and healthy enough to participate. Dogs must be 12 weeks old. A small dog area will be available for dogs less than 15 pounds. Pre-registration is recommended. On-site registration will be available if space permits. $5 for up to two dogs.

Stage Alive presents Presidio Brass

5th Annual Beeping Egg Hunt

Belmont’s annual event is for visually impaired children and their families. Bring your basket for the egg hunt, followed by refreshments, a miniature animal petting zoo, crafts and “Touch a Tractor.” RSVP to Education and Communications Manager Michelle Crow-Dolby at [email protected] or 540-654-1851.
